Fly to the Past, Blenheim Palace
Fly to the Past was a very different style of airshow. Rather than just letting the flying displays take centre stage, they were augmented by live music and historic footage played on big screens. he showground at Blenheim saw displays of classic cars and war time set pieces and displays. The showground was also full of travelling acts such as “Haurel and Lardy” and a singing, weeping Robot!
It was marketed as a premium event with a premium prices aimed at a very different audience to traditional airshows. There was no rush to the front either as the display line was over trees with the main viewing area on a slope overlooking Blenheim’s parkland.
