Shuttleworth, visitor attraction and event venue home to some of the world’s oldest airworthy examples of historic aircraft, is delighted to introduce Wings & Wheels Air Show on 30 May 2026, a brand-new theme for 2026.
Breath-taking visiting aircraft
Returning by popular demand, the only jet powered Pitts in existence, Rich Goodwin’s Jet Pitts will perform impressive aerobatics. Also joining Shuttleworth will be the only two airworthy Grumman Wildcats in Europe, as well as the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight Spitfire and Hurricane, amongst many visiting aircraft.
In a celebration of 80 years of the de Havilland DHC-1 Chipmunk, four Chipmunks, including the Royal Chipmunk which King Charles III learned to fly in, will fly in formation. Three nations who operated the Chipmunk will be represented in the display, including the Canadian, Portuguese, and British Royal Navy and Royal Air Force.
Epic new arena featuring supercars and BMX shows
The air show introduces a new arena featuring an expansive range of vehicle activity. Star cars, including the Jurassic Park Jeep, Back to the Future DeLorean Time Machine, The Love Bug Herbie, Cars Lightning McQueen, and Transformers Bumblebee will feature in a red-carpet photo opportunity. BMX stunt shows will wow audiences, and there will be 70 “Show & Shine” vehicles ranging from supercars to tuk-tuks for visitors to admire. Also featured is a display celebrating the evolution of motorcycles across seven decades, and visitors will be able to experience the thrill of racing themselves through four different e-racing simulators and a motion simulator.
More to explore
Vintage buses will run to Shuttleworth House, once the home of Shuttleworth Collection founder Richard Shuttleworth, which will be open to explore. Meanwhile, the Clayton and Shuttleworth Heritage Team will showcase working historic machinery, and volunteers will guide visitors through how to work the Bofors Anti-Aircraft Gun. For the kids, STEM-focused Discovery Zone activities as well as a free fun fair, including a climbing wall and trampolines, will be on offer.
Marc Boult, Head of Visitor Operations at Shuttleworth, commented: “Shuttleworth only exists today thanks to the engineering and racing spirit of our Collection founder, Richard Shuttleworth. Known as ‘Mad Jack’ for his speedy driving, and always the first to tinker with something or to chase the latest developments in technology, there is no better way to bring his legacy to a new generation than with an air show that promises to deliver vehicles and aircraft in equal measure.”
