On their Facebook page, the Norwegian Air Force Historical Squadron have announced that their single seat de Havilland Vampire will wear Royal Air Force markings for the 2024 Display Season. Next year will mark the 100th Anniversary of the Royal Auxiliary Air Force and the aircraft will receive appropriate squadron markings.

The aircraft has previous worn RAF markings for the 2018 and 2023 display seasons. In 2019 the Squadron won the British Air Display Association’s Miss Demeanour Trophy for their exceptional support of the Royal Air Force’s centenary at airshows across the UK during the 2018 season.

Sadly this news was prompted by the posting of inaccurate news stating the aircraft had been sold to the US. The post confirmed the aircraft HAD NOT BEEN SOLD.
