Organisers have confirmed there will be no Scottish International Airshow in 2022. They had hoped to revive the event at a new location at Stranraer as part of the new ‘Gateway to Galloway Festival’ in early July.
The Scottish International Airshow was last held in 2018 along the Ayr coastline with aircraft basing out of Prestwick. After the annoucement by National Museums of Scotland that they have suspended the popular “Scotland’s National Airshow” at East Fortune this further loss leaves Scotland without any major public airshows. However, there will be some display flying in Scotland with events like Scottish Week at Peterhead and the Largs Viking Festival which have air displays as part of their festivities.
