Due to the retirement of the PZL TS-11 Iskra jet trainer from Polish Air Force service, the Biało-Czerwone Iskry will fly their final displays in 2021 Rzeczpospolitca reports.
This year will see the Polish Air Force TS-11 fleet hand over its duties to the Leonardo M-346 Bielik advanced jet trainer. The TS-11 was introduced into service in 1964 and the type has served for over 50 years as Poland’s advanced jet trainer. Biało-Czerwone Iskry trace their heritage back in 1969 and the formation of the Rombik Team. In the 1990s after the end of the Cold War Team, Biało-Czerwone Iskry expanded to a nine ship and became a regualr sight at European shows.
The team now consist of seven aircraft and 2021 will see the team perform at four shows as well as final appearance on 15th August during Army Day celebrations.
