Shuttleworth July Online Airshow
Are you ready for another Shuttleworth Collection virtual airshow?
With Bonus feature – Pilot’s Eye View with the Paul Stone flying the Bristol Boxkite.
Following on from the debut event in May, the Shuttleworth Collection are once again going to bring the sights and sounds of an afternoon at Old Warden to your living room from the 5th July.
This time the theme is “Treasured Moments at Old Warden” and features some memorable visiting display items over the years, some of which are no longer flying in the UK, or at all.
We will see Old Warden based favourites such as the Fiesler Storch and the collection’s Hawker Hind and WW1 machines such as the wonderful Sopwith Snipe and graceful Albatros D.Va
The past performers being celebrated aren’t just limited to military types either, with the futuristic eGo and Optica also putting in an appearance.
The development of the Hawker aircraft will be shown from the tiny Cygnets, through to a trio of Hawker biplanes and a wonderful Hurricane three ship display.
de Havilland fans will not be disappointed, with the DH88 Comet, Dragon Rapide and Dragonfly flying together in a wonderful trio of twin engined machines.
Through the magic of a virtual airshow we can even bring back that much missed shape in our skies, Avro Vulcan XH558 with a recording of the aircraft’s last public display which took place at Old Warden in 2015.
As always, the collection relies on the generous donations of its supporters to keep these wonderful machines and vehicles in running condition. The continued cancellation of planned shows so far this year has removed a significant income source and any support can help the collection through this challenging time.
Once again to buy your ticket you simply need to make a donation to the collection through the virtual airshow page and get ready to enjoy another great selection of flying displays that could only really be found at Old Warden.
I hope you’ll join us and I hope you enjoy the show that we’ve put together.

Virtual Air Tattoo
Fans of the Royal International Air Tattoo have a treat in store this summer as the world's largest military airshow announces a weekend of virtual flying displays, interviews and never seen before footage. The Virtual Air Tattoo is aimed at giving viewers a flavour of the real event planned for 2020.
The Virtual Air Tattoo will be a free to view live-streamed event on Saturday 18 and Sunday 19 July, with a minimum of four hours of live, unique, video content aired on each day. It will showcase military aviation in a way viewers will not be able to access elsewhere, as the Royal International Air Tattoo has done for nearly 50 years.
CEO, Paul Atherton, commented, "We still want to give the Air Tattoo experience to our visitors, participants & sponsors and this we can do through an online broadcast over what would have been the show weekend. This is our thank you for all their support, loyalty and goodwill during this difficult time."
The broadcast will focus on flying display action, using footage from previous Air Tattoo displays and a unique twist with the inclusion of true 'virtual' displays flown on flight simulation programmes by skilled gamers from across Europe, including RAF eSports who will follow the broadcast with a special tournament. The Virtual Air Tattoo will also give a 'behind the scenes' view of military aviation with content from the Royal Air Force, International Air Arms and our Aerospace Industry Partners.
Working with PlanesTV, the programme will be hosted from a live studio by aviation expert and Air Tattoo commentator, Ben Dunnell, as well as special guests, and viewers will be encouraged to ask questions via social media, making the Virtual Air Tattoo a truly interactive experience.

Festival Aereo Internacional Torre del Mar Digital Edition
Covid has made it impossible for us this year to edit, and as we had discussed, without possibility of an alternative date, both because of the difficulty of moving dates, and of social responsibility without being sure how things will be; What matters, is that we will have that day a series of activities in the form of videos, which will remind us of the strength with which the festival will arrive for July 2021!
FIA Connect: A Virtual Farnborough International Airshow
This July should have seen global aerospace gathered together for the biennial Farnborough International Airshow: a celebration of all aspects of this highly innovative and economically important industry.
For the team at Farnborough International, a summer without an Airshow was simply inconceivable and so FIA Connect has been launched. Taking place on 20 – 24 July – the same week that the Airshow would have flown – we are creating a series of free-to-attend digital aerospace events.
Our intention is to deliver five days of high quality content, collaboration, thought leadership and industry insight; connecting the global aerospace industry during a time when we can’t meet. Highlights include:
The FINN Sessions – senior industry figures speaking about the topics that matter to industry.
Meet the Buyer - a strategic opportunity, connecting suppliers with buying decision makers at pre-arranged, private and secure virtual meetings.
Farnborough Friday – introducing a young and engaged audience to industry as part of an initiative developed to help address the skills gap. The day will include careers advice, inspirational speakers, downloads and workshops.
FIA Connect is partnering with ADS Group – the UK trade association for Aerospace, Defence and Security – to provide support, guidance and topical sessions of analysis, giving the best of insight and resource to help business keep up to date, informed and connected.
Speaking about the launch of FIA Connect, Gareth Rogers CEO of Farnborough International says: “Cancelling this year’s Farnborough International Airshow remains a source of acute disappointment but the team is working hard to develop a virtual event which brings as many aspects of the show to people as possible.
“We know that the cancellation process has not been straightforward and work on delivering a financial solution to exhibitors continues; however, it is vital that Farnborough International does everything possible to contribute to the recovery of organisations throughout the supply chain who have been hit by the impacts of this pandemic.
“FIA Connect will bring global industry together via an online platform, providing world-class content, insight and business growth opportunities. We are attaching no fee, from Meet the Buyer through to virtual FINN Sessions, this is being offered free of charge. I sincerely hope that we are joined by as many of our exhibitors and visitors as possible this July.”
An exclusive package is under development for 2020 Exhibitors, including networking and promotional opportunities. We also look forward to welcoming our trade visitors and the international aerospace industry.

But this is not just an ordinary airshow. Sanicole is a family organization, by and for families. Safety on the ground and in the air has always been our absolute top priority. Our pioneering role as an event in emergency planning and medical care means that for many years we have been able to count on a very large group of top medical professionals who, besides their job, are selflessly committed to supporting our event. As a consequence of COVID-19, this medical branch of our Sanicole family is currently under severe pressure in the various hospitals in our region where they work.
