This summer there are three unmissable family events taking place at Headcorn Aerodrome, set in the heart of the beautiful Kent countryside, offering something for everyone!
The Battle of Britain Air Show – 30th & 1st July
After the huge success of last year’s event, the spectacular Battle of Britain Air Show will be returning on Saturday 30th June and Sunday 1st July.
The show will be commemorating the 78th anniversary of the Battle of Britain and the 100th year since the RAF was formed. Joining the show will be Cadets from across the county as well as serving officers and veterans. With flights throughout the day the main displays will take place between midday and 3:30pm. This year’s show will feature more aircraft with multiple Spitfires and Hurricanes and attendance from the RAF Battle of Britain Memorial Flight (BBMF).
Along with attractions for all the family including; A funfair, stalls, unrivaled choreographed air displays and flight experiences, this really will be an event not to miss. Plus on the Saturday evening you can dance to the Clefhangers Big Band joined by the Patriot girls. We are delighted that Shepherd Neame are supporting this event in the heart of Kent.
Combined Ops Military and Air Show – 18th & 19th August
Then on Saturday 18th and Sunday 19th August, the Combined Ops Military and Air Show returns. This unique event has a variety of vintage and modern aircraft displays, on the ground and in the air.
This family event which includes static military vehicles, living history re-enactment groups, arena events, military stalls, children’s entertainment and food stalls to makes the perfect day out. There will be a chance to see the mighty Lancaster display as well as the RAF workhorse the Chinook both display and up close on the ground as two will be attending.
Southern Model Show – 8th & 9th September
Returning on Saturday 8th & Sunday 9th September is The Southern Model Show in association with the Maidstone Model Flying Club. This show will feature a stunning array of model aircraft, helicopters, ships, tank and other vehicles.
Off-road 2wd and 4wd buggies, on road cars, tanks and other fighting vehicles, motorbikes, trucks, fast and furious racing – just about everything you could imagine will be on the ground. Paddle steamers to battleships; lifeboats to submarines – a great range of water vessels will be taking to the high seas (or rather the large water tank!) demonstrating the endless fun you can have whilst messing about on the water.
A full range of other activities and a show ground packed with traders makes this a must go event for anyone with an interest in this fascinating hobby whether a professional or a beginner.
