Three more exciting flight display teams are queueing up on the runway to join the action at Clacton Airshow 2017.
Organisers are delighted to have signed up Team Raven, the Vampire Pair and Gerald Cooper for both days of the event on August 24 and 25.
The De Havilland Vampire FB.52 and FB.55 appeared at last year’s event and put on a thrilling display with their top speeds of 548mph.
It will also be a return to Clacton for Team Raven who flew both days in 2015 having only formed the previous year.
The formation aerobatic display team use Van’s RV self-built lightweight aircraft which are both quick and frugal. The team has self-modified their aircraft with smoke systems.
Gerald Cooper, who has been flying competitively for the past 17 seasons, has numerous British titles under his belt and last flew high above the town in 2013.
He attends many airsports competitions and airshows around the world with his Xtreme Air and his abilities stem from his in-depth engineering knowledge coupled with thousands of hours of piloting experience.
Gerald’s aggressive and highly accurate style provides for distinctive and innovative performances to wow the crowds.
Tanya Ferguson, Tendring District Council’s Cabinet Member for Tourism and Culture, said that with a couple of months to go the line-up is really starting to take shape with old favourites returning as well as new displays coming on board.
“It promises to be a very strong programme once again and I cannot wait for the event which will pull in audiences from far and wide.
“We still have plenty more to unveil – including the aircraft for the night flying – as well as a few other surprises.”
The trio joins the ever-popular Battle of Britain Memorial Flight (BBMF), made up of the Lancaster and two Spitfires, who are also lined-up for both days.
Already confirmed as taking part are the Tigers Parachute team; the Catalina and the world famous Royal Air Force Aerobatic Team the Red Arrows.
BBC Essex will once again be providing Radio Airshow on 103.5FM and 729MW.
