This year, IWM Duxford will be hosting a series of aviation event days. Pilots and aviation groups will have the opportunity to land at this historic airfield and enjoy a fascinating day exploring the museum’s renowned exhibitions and heritage.
Duxford Airfield Safety Day
Saturday 8 April
The Duxford Airfield Safety Day is an opportunity for the general aviation community to meet with aviation experts, listen to presentations and ask questions.
During the day, there will be a selection of presentations hosted by representatives from the Civil Aviation Authority, the General Aviation Safety Council, National Air Traffic Services and Distress and Diversion.
At table top presentations, meet and chat with, amongst others, members of the Aircraft Owners & Pilots Association, British Microlight Aircraft Association, Civil Aviation Authority, Andrewsfield Aviation CFI (Licensing), Distress and Diversion, The General Aviation Safety Council (GASCo), the Light Aircraft Association, the Met Office, National Air Traffic Services, Park Air and the Royal Institute of Navigation.
Presentations will run from 11.30am to 1.30pm and then be repeated from 2pm to 4pm. Table top presentations run continuously throughout the day.
There will also be guided tours throughout the day in AirSpace and the Battle of Britain exhibition.
Entry to the Duxford Airfield Safety Day is £5 per person. The landing fee is reduced to £8 per aircraft. Visitors travelling by car, or unable to fly in due to bad weather, must pre-book.

Vintage Aircraft Club (VAC) Bonus Day

Originally formed in 1964, The Vintage Aircraft Club provides a principle body for enthusiasts of vintage and classic light aircraft by arranging fly-ins and other events for its members.
On Saturday 3 June, members of the Vintage Aircraft Club will have the opportunity to fly into IWM Duxford at the discounted landing fee of £8 per aircraft and meet with other vintage aircraft owners and enthusiasts. Attendees will also be able to explore IWM Duxford’s exhibitions free of charge.

Light Aircraft Association (LAA) Bonus Day

The Light Aircraft Association was formed in 1946 and seeks to make aircraft ownership achievable through pioneering and innovative approaches. The association boasts over 8,000 members and is inclusive of all types of aircraft from the home-built, vintage and classic to the inspirational cutting-edge.
The LAA Bonus day is an opportunity for light aircraft owners to fly into IWM Duxford at the discounted landing fee of £8 per aircraft and meet other light aircraft enthusiasts. Entrance to the museum will be free of charge, so members can also explore the historic site and enjoy the fascinating exhibitions.
