The 80th Anniversary of the D-Day Landings was the most significant theme of Display Season 2024. Early highlights included the return of some American owned Douglas C-47 and DC-3s in June to take part in the commemorations. On the modern military side, the Qatari Boeing F-15QA Ababil demonstrations at Farnborough were memorable highlights at RIAT and Farnborough. Another standout moment at RIAT was the first public flying display by a USAF Lockheed U-2S for many year. 2024 also saw the very welcome return of Sywell to the airshow calendar with an outstanding warbird dominated airshow.
