2023 was a season punctuated by changeable weather with some events experiencing extreme heat while others got a soaking! Several events in the UK marked the 80th Anniversary of Operation Chastise (The Dams Raid) with special flypasts from the BBMF and the RAF Typhoon Display Team. Another major theme of the year was the 100th Anniversary of the Italian Air Force marked in spectacular style at Pratica di Mare in July and at the Royal International Air Tattoo in July. The season closed with the Dubai Airshow which saw a truly international line-up including the Chinese People’s Liberation Army Air Force display team, the Ba Yi (August 1st.)
