IWM Duxford Autumn Air Show 2007
Despite some early fog, the weather was good for the final major UK flying display of the year at IWM Duxford. 2007’s show had a particularly good line-up of displays with some outstanding aircraft and formations.
Making a welcome return was the Belgian Air Component F-16AM Fighting Falcon flown by Mickey Artiges. The F-16 first appeared last year and like then operated from nearby RAF Mildenhall. As well as the exciting solo display, the F-16 was again joined by some Duxford residents. This year however, the formation involved two warbirds, ARCo’s Spitfire XVIII and TFC’s P-51TF Mustang Miss Velma.
The Aircraft Restoration Company’s Pilatus P-2 gave a very rare and sporting display in the hands of John Romain plus there was a very welcome pairing of Golden Apple’s F-86A Sabre with the Royal Navy Historic Flight’s Hawker Sea Hawk FGA6.
The afternoon was brought to a close with a spectacular display by the Red Bull Matadors in their Sukhoi Su-26s.
