Airbourne, Eastbourne International Airshow 2007
Airbourne 2007 was a very different event to previous years. The reduction in RAF solo jet displays just to the Typhoon made a notable difference this year and the show was not allocated any international fast jets. The Belgian Air Force still made the effort to attend Eastbourne with their Westland Sea King Mk48 providing a search and rescue demonstration. The Royal Jordanian Falcons also added to the international flavour with their four Extra 300L aircraft.
The reduction in military displays was countered with more warbird displays. These include the P-40M Kittyhawk and P-51D Mustang from the Hangar 11 Collection plus a Battle of Britain scenario with two Hawker Hurricanes tangling with a pair of Bf108 Taifuns.
However, it was the final display appearance by the Oasis Boeing 747-400 that really caught the eye as it flew low-level around Beachy Head and Pevensey Bay.
