RNAS Yeovilton International Air Day 2007
RNAS Yeovilton International Air Day 2007 was the Royal Navy’s biggest event of any kind this year. The main theme of the event was the 25th Anniversary of the Falklands Conflict. Not only did this mean the Fleet Air Arm Museum supported the event with its Argentine UH-1H Iroquois, but the French Navy also took part with a Dassault Super Etendard M equipped with an Exocet missile. They were joined by examples of Royal Navy helicopters which 25 years later are still in service.
There was also good support from the United States Air Force with a pair of Fairchild A-10 Thunderbolt IIs and a superb Lynx meet which saw examples from France, the Netherlands and Portugal joined several examples from the Royal Navy and Army Air Corps. In the air, the flying displays featured the Belgian Air Force F-16AM Fighting Falcon solo and a first visit by Patrouille Suisse in their Northrop F-5E Tiger IIs.
