Flying Legends Airshow 2006

Flying Legends Airshow 2006

The highlight of the season for warbird enthusiasts is the Flying Legends Airshow at IWM Duxford. No other show presents historic aircraft with such an atmosphere and such dynamic displays. There are always so much highlights, but 2006 saw the Morane MS406 from Association Morane Charlie Fox attend for the first time sharing the skies with the Fighter Collection’s Curtiss Hawk 75A-1.

Turning to the heavier aircraft, the French based Boeing B-17G Flying Fortress ‘Pink Lady’ returned flying in company with Sally-B. Another aircraft making its UK debut was the Consolidated PBY-5A Catalina from the Stichting Neptune Association based in the Netherlands. Continuing a naval theme, there was a wonder trio of Corsairs which included Claude Semindaaz’s example in the colours of the French Navy.
