The beginning of May means it’s time to dust off the scanners and camera as the UK airshow season begins again. With Duxford celebrating another important date and holding it’s show later than usual it was once again left to Abingdon and Old Warden to host the first two shows of the year. Abingdon again enjoyed some great support from the armed services including Joint Helicopter Command. For one of JHC’s display, the afternoon proved a little troublesome with a wheel detaching from the Boeing Chinook HC2 during its display forcing an early exit back to RAF Odiham where it could land on some sandbags.
